ALL ABOUT LEADS
|
There is an overwhelming amount of leads for sale out there - so how do you know what is good and what is not?
What is
a good price and what is a waste of your hard earned dollars?
What
is the benefit of the different types of leads and why such a huge price
difference? Is more always better? How do you get the best
leads for your money and what exactly makes a lead good or bad?
These are all important questions to know the answers to if you are
going to profit from your on-line marketing efforts. The other key
and equally important factor, is how to correctly follow up on the leads you
have. Regardless of how old your lead is, it will be your follow up
that makes or breaks you! Also remember it is always best to
advertise to a targeted market- ex: would you have much success in
trying to sell cigarettes to a non smoker? Let's take a look at
the questions and the answers. Learn about the different leads out
there and which ones are best for YOU.
You will also
find some recommended lead suppliers below.

|
Often the bulk autoresponder leads appear to be the best buy for the
money. It is unlikely however that you will build a successful business if it
is your only source of advertising. For best results we recommend that you try
a variety of leads and advertising. The FACT is, the more people that view
your website, the greater the chance of financial success. Take a few
moments to go through this page for overviews of several types of leads commonly
sold throughout the internet. It will help you to discover which leads will
benefit you most. The key is to find the lead best suited to your program and follow up techniques. |
|
Is more always better?
Not always. It is likely that a massive amount
of leads at a rock bottom price are extremely oversold, very old, not
specific for your targeted market (meaning the person may have been on
line for something completely different than what you are marketing), or can bring spamming problems.
Always be very careful of purchasing large volume at low prices.
You should
avoid any lead that only provides you with an email, it is
a strong indication that these are not opt in leads (meaning the lead
did not give permission to receive emails and could result in spam
complaints). Be sure that all your autoresponder or bulk
leads come with a date stamp and IP address! Good
autoresponder leads can be very cost effective and provide you with a
steady stream of prospects but do not usually produce as good of results
as some of the other leads available. |
|
Why do some leads cost so much more than others?
The cost of leads has an incredible price range and is
generally due to the type and quality of the lead. (Information on
each type of lead is below on this page). Is it a fresh lead
(0-72 hours), 30 day old, 60 day, 90 day, targeted market specific lead,
opt in, double opt in, phone surveyed, form surveyed, guaranteed test
driver, exclusive lead, autoresponder lead, does the lead information
include email address and name only or does include additional
information such as phone number, address and other specific
information- and the list goes on. Many things will play into the
pricing of leads. Here are a few higher quality leads that you may
want to consider. |
|
Guaranteed
sign ups for "Free to Join" programs.
Guaranteed signups are an easy way to guarantee that you will receive a
set amount of Pre-enrollees that you can then approach about upgrading
to your program. These have a much higher sign up ratio than most
leads available for purchase because they are not only fresh, they
actually pre-enroll in your program. That means they are signed up
exclusively in your site, then it is up to you to contact them to become
paying members in your company. The key in purchasing is to make
sure that they are not offered something in return for joining
programs. Try Guaranteed Sign Ups to build your
downline quickly.

Best for phone
calling purposes:
If you do a lot of
phone calling as a part of your follow up procedure then you will likely
find Interviewed Phone Leads to be an excellent lead source.
Phone Interviewed means that they have been contacted by phone to verify
name, email address and correct phone number and interviewed. They
have agreed to receive information by email or phone for home business
opportunities. In many cases (depending on where you
purchase the lead from) they have also been asked questions such as
level of interest, amount they are willing to invest, how soon they
would like to start, etc. Do not confuse Phone Interviewed
with Phone Verified. Phone Verified means the prospect has been
contacted only to verify it is a correct phone number. |

Should I only buy the more expensive leads?
Some leads will actually cost $10.00 or more
per lead and are not always the best value. Before purchasing
high cost leads you will want to consider: How many other people is the
same lead being sold to? If they are exclusive leads, meaning they
are only sold to one or two people during the first 30 days it is
generally worth it to pay a little more money, other wise you need to
realize that the same lead is likely being approached by many with
offers to their programs and products. Leads that are more
expensive would be: exclusive leads,
program specific leads, phone surveyed leads,
surveyed leads (where the person has answered specific questions
on-line), Guaranteed Sign-Ups for free to join opportunities -
(generally for affiliate programs that allow a prospect to originally
join as a FREE member in hopes of upgrading after joining as a free
member). Then there is a guaranteed upgrade lead (very expensive),
usually 10.00 to 20.00 each)
that guarantee you upgraded (paying)
members for your affiliate program.
|
|
Should all of my leads be fresh (30 days or less)?
The most important factor will be your follow
up. Though it is sometimes an advantage to have fresher leads, it
can also have a disadvantage if several people (your competition) are
contacting the same leads. In some cases a slightly aged lead
can be more cost effective. |
|
Opt-In verses Double Opt-In?
The opt in leads are always less
expensive than double opt
in. Double opt in means someone not only opted in on line (agreed
to receive additional advertising) but also responded to an email
verifying that they want to receive emails about a type of product or
opportunity. The double opt in lead may cost nearly double the
amount, however they are usually of much better quality and produce
better results. They are good for loading into your autoresponder.
The delivery rate is outstanding with double opt in leads. |
|
What are genealogy leads?
Genealogy leads are previous or current mlm'ers. These leads are a good way to put experienced people in your down
line. They do however require a slightly different follow up
approach that you will want to be aware of before you work them.
In most cases genealogy leads can
not be put in to your
autoresponder because they have not given permission to receive
advertisement. It will be necessary to contact them by phone and
ask if they would be willing to receive additional information from you.
|
|
So what is the bottom line?
YOU MUST ADVERTISE TO SUCCEED!
The best advise is to use a variety of leads and
various forms of advertising to drive traffic to your website.
Find out if a particular type seems to work best for you. Results
will vary from person to person and in accordance to your program or
product and how you follow up
on your leads. There is really no right or wrong way to decide
what type of leads you should buy (other than always avoid the leads
that offer name and email
only). Do keep in mind though,
that
often the better quality leads will provide a greater percentage of
sales or sign ups. It is always recommended that you try to find
leads for your "targeted market" therefore in the long run your money may be
best spent with the higher quality leads. |
